"They weren't hurt they were all in good shape, but I'm sure they were kind of shook up," said Chintimini director Jeff Picton. When Picton and volunteers arrived at the wildlife rehabilitation center north of town on Saturday morning, they discovered that two avian flight cages had collapsed, leaving a mess of snow, distorted metal framing and mesh in place of enclosures that are essential for bird recovery. The 30 by 30 foot cage had been empty and, luckily, the red tailed hawks in the larger enclosure hadn't taken off.
