Samaritan Hospice volunteers visit with people in their homes, while hospice house volunteers help at Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House itself, a homelike facility used when a patient's home isn't an option or hospice families need respite care for their loved one. The Transitions program, new as of August 2013, matches volunteers with people who are battling a serious illness but aren't ready for full on hospice care.
